It is the New Year and you know what that means. Breakfast for the family… or for yourself, no biggy.
This isn’t necessarily a recipe but rather more a guide in creating a breakfast board for all to enjoy.
Let’s get started shall we!
First, you are going to want to have the following materials. (In no way does it have to be these exact items, working with what you have is perfectly fine).
- A wooden cutting board
- A few small dishes (mini sauce bowls work great!)
- Food items of your choice (the photo above uses belgian waffles, strawberries, blueberries, sliced almonds, and granola.)
- Condiment side (This guide uses pure maple syrup, but additional options include hazelnut spread and other nut butters.)
Once you have gathered all of you materials… it’s time to decorate!
Just go with the flow and don’t over think it. Creativity works best when not stressed. I recommend starting out with the fruits, to then work your way up to the granola or sliced almond scatter. You might find it easier to lay out the pancakes, toast, or waffles first, that is totally fine. Do what works best for YOU!
After you have everything set out for the layout, start to piece together what you have. It may seem very empty at first but once you find the right formation in accordance to your liking, then it will fill up just right.
When you finally have everything set out the way you would like, get on with the decorative granola , nut slices/pieces, or powered sugar toppings! This one is a fun step because the more imperfect it looks the better.
AND thats It!
So glad you got to be in the kitchen with me today.
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
Until next time,
- Love KHG.
